Make the Best of Today. Who Knows What Tomorrow Brings?

Make the best of today. Who knows what tomorrow brings?

When diagnosed with a long-term illness, you learn very quickly that no two days are the same.  The key is to adjust to your new “normal,”  however, do what you can on any given day.  On some days just the basics of life are attainable.  Getting dressed, eating something, and staring out the window is all I can do.

Depression and anxiety consume my energy, focus, and mind. Therefore, it is crucial that you make the best of today.

Because, on other days when the depression and anxiety are tucked away, my day appears extremely different.  I might begin my day at the gym with my trainer. In addition, I can coach my international executives (via phone), write a blog piece, meet a friend for dinner, and spend the evening reading a good book.

Talk about doing what I can, with what I have, where I am—the same person yet two very different days.

You may want to consider looking at life as a journey, not a destination.  Living each day to the fullest with what you have available is something to ponder.  Why?  It beats the alternative of not having the day to live at all.

Reflection Question

Are you living your best life with where you are today?
